Drosophila melanogaster is a useful model organism in a wide range of biological research from genetics to ecology. Drosophila is an extremely useful tool for studying various biological processes. Creating transgenic fruit flies

Creative BioMart provides plasmid generation guidance for the creation of transgenic fruit flies. We helped inject recombinant DNA into embryos and identify transgenic Drosophila lines. Thereafter, we provided guidance for mapping transgenes by cross protocol and / or reverse PCR.

Maintenance of fly strains

Fruit fly core facilities

  • The workstation is equipped with a stereomicroscope, an external light source and a humidified CO2 system for anesthetizing flies.
  • A flying food kitchen for preparing food and a refrigerator for storing food vials.
  • Isolation room for fly line and infection test from outside the facility. The quarantine room has two microscopes with carbon dioxide system.
  • Humidity and light controlled fly incubator at different temperatures (18 ° C, 25 ° C, 26 ° C, 29 ° C).

  • Stereo microscope for fly / larva imaging, including stereo microscope + imaging system, can be used for teaching and taking high-resolution color photos of flies and / or their anatomical tissues

  • Stereo microscope for fluorescence sorting / imaging video imaging device for behavior analysis
  • Fruit fly activity monitor and incubator
